Privacy Policy
Arista National Title Company ("Company") is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers, especially those who access and use our www.aristant.com website.

This Privacy Policy is designed to inform you about the types of information that we gather about you and your organization, how we may use that information, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of that information.

Collection and Use of Your Personal Information

For all visitors to its websites, the Company may collect general data pertaining to each website visitor, such as the visitor's IP address, operating system, browser type and version number, and the web pages viewed. This information may be aggregated with all other visitor information.

The Company collects personal information, which means information by which specific individuals can be identified, including by name, identification number, mailing address, e-mail address, and other personal characteristics or attributes. The Company will process personal information collected from you fairly and lawfully and will not use such personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes it was requested and received. For example, the Company will use your personal information to process orders; to help us to improve our websites and your online experience; to provide you with information about our products and services; for ordering, customer support, payment, processing and service purposes; to transact business with us; for credit checks, collections, and related billing or credit purposes; and as otherwise allowed by law.

In addition to personal information you provide to us for the purpose of ordering products, you may provide financial information to us for the purpose of extending credit to you. This data is only used to evaluate your credit worthiness and is reviewed periodically as long as your account is active. It is shared with financial institutions as a normal course of doing business. Your account status and payment history is also reported to various credit reporting agencies.  When you place an order from our website or request a quote, you will be asked for information including your name, billing or shipping address or work e-mail address, work phone number, credit card information and other personal identifying information necessary to fill your order or provide the quotation.  When you become a registered user, the registration page will request you to input certain information, such as your name, e-mail address, street address, and a password you select.

Sharing Your Personal Information

The Company may share your personal information within our organization, with any Company subsidiary worldwide, or with authorized third parties (e.g., business partners, suppliers and financial institutions) as described in this policy. We may also disclose information in response to subpoenas, governmental requests or other legal process or to otherwise protect our legal or contractual obligations. We will not sell or otherwise transfer your personal information to individuals or entities outside of our organization or one of our authorized partners or resellers without your approval.

Cookies

A cookie is type of identifier sent from a website to your computer system via your web browser to provide tailored features. The Company uses cookies in order to secure and confirm your information when logging into partner access with your private login name and password. We do not use this information for any other purpose than to grant you access to secured specific reseller only website pages.

We may use transient or "session" cookies to track a registered user's session. A session cookie is a small file that contains information about a user that disappears when the user's browser is closed. Unlike a persistent cookie, a transient cookie is not stored on your hard drive. It is only stored in temporary memory and is erased once the browser is closed. You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers will automatically accept cookies. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to access or use features of our website that depend on cookies.  We do not use the information transferred through cookies for promotion or marketing purposes, and, except as is described in this policy, do not share that information with third parties.  We do use a third-party tracking service that uses cookies to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate.

We also may use clear gifs to help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers' personally identifiable information.

E-mail Communications

The Company may provide customers with promotional announcement for savings, rebates, tech shows and product launches and these announcements can be stopped at any time by selecting the opt-out feature at the bottom of the e-mail. We do not sell these e-mail lists to any of our business partners for any reason.

Security of Your Personal Information

The Company uses a combination of industry standard security measures to protect your personal information from loss and misuse. For example, we use encryption when transmitting payment card information over the Internet.

As part of those measures, we have instituted Secure Socket Layer protocol ("SSL") to protect personal information that you transmit over the internet.  When you place orders or access your account information, we use the SSL to encrypt all your personal information, including sensitive information such as credit card numbers, so they cannot be read during Internet transmission. To confirm this, when you enter personal information during the registration or ordering processes, your browser will indicate that you have entered a secure page environment (look for a "lock" icon, and/or you will see that the URL has changed from "http:" to "https").  We also use a secure licensed system for credit card authorization and fraud detection. Your credit card information is sent directly to our credit card service and referenced by your order number. We do not store your credit card information on our website.

Although we endeavor to keep your information secure, no security system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.  Furthermore, you play a vital role in the security of your own information.  For instance, since a password is used to help protect your personal information, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential and not share the information with anyone.
